§ 8-11. Shopping carts placed in the public right-of-way.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful to place any shopping cart within the public right-of way. Any shopping cart found in the public right-of-way shall be subject to immediate removal by the city.

    (b)

    Each business establishment that furnishes shopping carts to its patrons shall post a sign not less that one and one-half (1½) feet by three (3) feet in conspicuous places at each location inside and outside the business establishment where shopping carts are stored for patron use stating that it is a violation of state law and a first degree misdemeanor to remove the business establishment's shopping carts from the establishment's parking lot.
