§ 7-226. Residential use.

  • Family day care homes, as defined in the Broward County Code, section 7-50 is a permitted use for any residentially zoned property in the city which is not deed restricted for adult residents only, provided that the following requirements are met:

    (1)

    The requirements of Chapter 7, Article II of the Broward County Code as may be amended from time to time, shall be met by the operator of the family day care home.

    (2)

    A local business tax receipt issued by the city is obtained as required and as prescribed in article II of this chapter in addition to other requirements of a city local business tax receipt.

    (3)

    The operator shall have:

    a.

    A smoke detector properly installed on the premises;

    b.

    A fire extinguisher on the premises that is capable of extinguishing electrical and oil base fires; and

    c.

    Telephone service to the family day care home.
