§ 7-141. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this division, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Incorrect weight shall mean the use of any scale or device that results in the weighing of merchandise which weight in effect does not comply with the tables of weight and measures as published by the National Bureau of Standards.

    Retail establishment shall mean any store offering for sale any and all foodstuffs, commodities and products for human consumption or use off the premises.

    Weight and measures shall mean the system in customary use in the United States and in accordance with the equivalence as provided and published by the National Bureau of Standards.
