§ 2-159. Function; duties.

  • (a)

    The economic development board is hereby authorized to:

    (1)

    Act in an advisory capacity to the director of economic development in matters pertaining to economic development in the city.

    (2)

    Cooperate with other governmental agencies and civic groups in the advancement of economic development.

    (3)

    Recommend policies, procedures and philosophies on economic development for approval by the director of economic development.

    (4)

    Advise the director on concerns and priorities of economic development.

    (5)

    Advise the director on the development of long range economic development planning.

    (6)

    At the request of the director, aid in coordinating economic development programs with the programs of other governmental agencies and voluntary organizations.

    (7)

    Review the effectiveness of economic development programs with the director.

    (8)

    Communicate the economic development policies and functions to the public.
