There is hereby created a bicycle and pedestrian advisory board (BPAB). The initial
members of the BPAB shall be appointed as follows: the mayor shall appoint three (3)
board members and each commissioner shall appoint two (2) board members. The mayor
and each commissioner may each appoint one (1) nonresident in the event qualified
residents are unavailable to serve. Preference should be given to appointing members
who represent a cross-section of bicycle and pedestrian interests, including but not
limited to commuting, road/racing, recreation, fitness, mountain biking, cyclocross,
walking, jogging, running, families, children, seniors and special needs. Each member's
term that expires in March 2015 shall be extended through December 31, 2015. Commencing
in December 2015, appointments will occur no later than the second Tuesday in December
for a term commencing January first of the following year and expiring on December
thirty-first. Incumbent members shall serve until their successor is appointed or
until removed in accordance with sections 2-76 or 2-81. All of the provisions of Article III, Division 1 of this Code shall apply to this
board unless specifically exempted or excluded in Chapter 2, Article III, Division 4 of this Code.
